Results of October 1, 2011 Green Team Meeting
-Teresa has been advised of a web site used as clearing house to find homes for church items such as pews, altars etc. She will look into it to see if any of our needs for Barn and Chapel can be met here.
-Leonard Gabriel can provide free interior paint for use by our volunteers to paint offices and multiuse rooms.
-The Wells family has offered to provide concrete floor sealant at no cost. Bob/Teresa will ask Chuck Lacey if it is acceptable product and if he willing to use it in the Barn.
-Bob/Teresa will ask Chuck Lacey if he plans to install a dryer vent in Barn laundry room.
-The sloped area north of Barn between Barn and Angel Woods will be sown with native grasses, flowers and/or wildflowers. Teresa will get estimate from vendor to kill off existing grass on the slope.
-Consider installing small stained glass artwork in some interior walls in the future. For example, if we name a conference room after St. Joseph, we may want to build a niche in conference room wall, install stained glass and have back lighting.
-Consider having simple Stations of the Cross placed on walls of east part of Main Room for use when inclement weather prevents use of outdoor stations. (Eagle Scout?)
-Storage room next to conference rooms is called The Stall. This room has high ceiling which would allow for installing overhead shelving on East and West walls. Consider a future project of single shelf about 4 foot wide and 7 feet above floor for storing light weight materials. (Eagle Scout?)
-Altar and Ambo for Chapel will most likely come from St. Ann’s (24th and Poppleton, Omaha). It will be delivered before floor is in place in Chapel. Bob/Teresa will find out if we should place altar on concrete floor and place tile around it or install floor tile and set altar on tile. i.e. will tile support weight of altar? Consider storing altar in The Stall until needed. Also keep altar on wheels while stored here.
-Kitchen will have electrical outlets dropped down from ceiling onto each of the two work tables. Tables will be fixed to the floor, so outlets should be attached to the tables.
-If any of the Barn utilities include propane we need to decide where to bury the propane tank. Also should we buy systems that are easily adapted to natural gas in the future?
-Existing septic system may be due for pumping. Teresa will schedule pumping and also measure tank volume.
-Large cross made from utiity poles needs to be set up. Need to determine appropriate location. (Eagle Scout?)
-Green Team should plan on finishing siding on house on October 22, 2011.
-Green Team needs to develop plans for benches, shelving, tools for The Shop. (Eagle Scout?)
-Teresa/Jessi will order overhead garage door for The Shop.
-Ask Chuck Lacey to install two more electrical outlets in women’s restroom in Barn.
