November 2010: Volunteer and Green Team To Do List!

Here is a working list of volunteer opportunities and TO DO LIST!

  • For now the raking  leaves is good, but we have some garden work too when it is not too wet, and building small box stands to set plants on in the loft (the ones we had burned up).

  • We are getting a large magnet (Bob Zaruba) to get the metal out of the barn area dirt and then we need to rake it up good,

  • Dividing bulbs, cleaning up the butterfly garden, etc. …Grass seeding too.

  • Library needs purging, we started with students and it is a good project for them. We need boxes for this one. We would like to have the Win Redding Mary and Saints Memorial Library back to the Pro Sanctity Center! So we are preparing for the return! We could possibly have a room in the building dedicated to children books for holiness, and in the house Mary and the Saints books for adults!

  • Washing the walls in the house, so that the adults can paint the big room and the upstairs room…. Actually as soon as tomorrow, we can  wash walls tomorrow if it rains. Jeff Norris plans to paint the walls and re-do the floor in the big room starting Monday.

  • Newsletter folding and preparing to mail will be after school next Thursday and if it is delayed, Saturday morning…we hope!

  • Thanks to Bob, the last details of the new shed are finished and Jeff Norris painted it. We will need some final touches, shelves put in and electricity. The rain today proved that it needs a set of stairs up into the shed. “Mud-city!”

  • Lighting!!  Lights around the house are out and we probably need to get some of those sun energy lights for around the big space where the barn was. It is wet and muddy now and if someone should walk out there by mistake, it is dark and dangerous without flashlights or a lighted way. Also out in front of the house where we dug a line for electricity to the shed…well the cat got stuck in the window well and I went to save her and fell in the mud!! No light, no see holes!

  • Other??

Thanks!!

Love, Teresa

Hi All!

I am enjoying my "vacation" after surgery. Here's a few arm-chair qb comments:

To state the obvious, new constuction items needs to take place off site as our stock and shop are temporaily off line. We would welcome donors for this!

It would be good to plan a library into the new facility. This space could be multi-use and serve as a place to feed a satellite.

A couple of sheets of blandex & 2x4s could be cut down and screwed together to form a temporary sidewalk and steps up to the new shed.

Mike Montag and I were discussing the merit of using a metal building as storage for implements. Here is an image:

Solar lighting is a good idea.

Maybe a sign at the entrance to the property with direction to check in and risks disclosed should be considered?

Got the image of T falling in the mud....laughing! Good work Kitty! And...I did not know Bob was a Magnet!

God Bless!
